DCA calculator dashboard for planning long-term Bitcoin accumulation.

How to Use the DCA Calculator

The HodlAtlas DCA Calculator helps you estimate how regular Bitcoin purchases may perform over time. You can set your investment strategy and see a projected accumulation scenario.

The calculator is designed for long-term planning. It does not attempt to predict Bitcoin’s price but helps you understand how your purchase amount, frequency, and investment period may affect your results.

What Is DCA?

DCA (Dollar-Cost Averaging) is an investment strategy where you buy an asset at regular intervals using the same amount of money, regardless of its current price.

For example, instead of making one large Bitcoin purchase, you could invest $10 every week or $100 every month.

When Bitcoin’s price is lower, you buy more BTC. When the price is higher, you buy less. This approach helps you stay consistent and avoid trying to time the market.

Step 1. Enter Your Purchase Amount

Enter the amount you plan to invest in Bitcoin on a regular basis.

It can be a small amount—the most important thing is choosing a purchase size that fits your budget and is easy to maintain over the long term.

Step 2. Choose the Purchase Frequency

Select how often you plan to buy Bitcoin.

For example:

  • Daily
  • Weekly
  • Monthly

The calculator uses the selected frequency to determine how many purchases will be made during the chosen investment period.

Step 3. Select the Investment Period

Choose how long you plan to continue buying Bitcoin.

A longer investment period means more purchases are included in the calculation. This allows you to compare different strategies and evaluate long-term results.

Step 4. Run the Calculation

After entering your settings, click the Calculate button.

HodlAtlas will process your inputs and display the results for the selected scenario.

You can change any parameter and run a new calculation at any time to compare different strategies.

How to Read the Results

After the calculation, you’ll see the key metrics of your strategy.

Invested — the total amount of money invested in Bitcoin during the selected period.

Accumulated Bitcoin — the estimated amount of BTC that could be accumulated based on your settings.

Number of Purchases — the total number of Bitcoin purchases made during the selected period.

Future Value — the estimated value of your accumulated Bitcoin under the selected scenario.

These metrics work together, allowing you to evaluate not only the final value but also how your investment period, frequency, and purchase amount affect the outcome.

Compare Different Scenarios

One of the main advantages of the calculator is the ability to quickly compare multiple investment strategies.

For example, you can see what happens if you increase your monthly investment, extend the investment period, or choose a different future Bitcoin price scenario.

This makes it easier to choose a strategy that you can realistically follow for many years.
